Legal
Terms & conditions.
The agreement between you and SPOTR. Please read it before you use the app.
1. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to use SPOTR. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or over and that the information you give us is accurate. Accounts belonging to people under 18 are removed, and reported to the authorities where the law requires it.
2. Your account
Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. Email and mobile verification are required before you can use the full service, and identity verification is required to complete your profile.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully or stalk anyone;
- impersonate another person or create a fake profile;
- post nudity, sexual exploitation, hate speech or any illegal content;
- spam, scam or defraud other members, or solicit money from them;
- scrape, reverse-engineer or otherwise misuse the platform;
- break any applicable law.
Our Community Guidelines form part of these Terms.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post. You grant us a licence to host and display it so that we can operate the service. You are responsible for your content and must have the right to share it. We may screen, remove or refuse any content.
5. Safety
SPOTR facilitates introductions. Beyond the verification we describe in the app, we do not conduct criminal background checks. You are responsible for your own safety when interacting with or meeting other members. Please read the Safety Centre guidance in the app before meeting anyone.
6. Premium and payments
Premium subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account and renew automatically until you cancel them in your store account. Prices and features are shown in the app. Refunds are handled according to the relevant store’s policy and applicable South African consumer law.
7. Suspension and termination
We may remove content, or suspend or terminate an account, where it breaches these Terms or threatens the community. For serious breaches we may act without notice. You can close your account at any time — see Delete your account.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we limit our liability and exclude indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where South African law does not permit it to be excluded or limited.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms and will notify you in-app of material changes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
